Every employee goes through a rigorous screening process including:

All employees are insured and bonded through Hill Country Care Providers.

All caregivers and administrative personnel must also complete a rigorous 20-hour training course in dementia and geriatric care allowing Hill Country Care Providers to proudly boast the only “Certified Geriatric Caregivers” in the Austin area.

The training includes testing, role-playing and lecture in all aspects of geriatric care. (The state mandated requirement of teaching for geriatric care in facilities is four (4) hours per year. There is currently no state requirement for home health agencies or personal assistance agencies to teach dementia or geriatric care to their employees.)

Seven Stages of Dementia – The Global Deterioration Scale,
Understanding Alzheimer’s and Other Dementias,
Using the Global Functional Assessment Tool,
Activities for the Elderly and Persons With Dementia,
Communicating with the Elderly and Persons With Dementia,
Geriatric Hygiene and Dental Care,
Range of Motion and Exercise,
Perception Changes in the Elderly,
Physiological Changes in the Elderly and
Role Playing an Elder Person’s Day.
